Cucumber Avocado Salsa Ingredients
Cucumber: It is one of the primary ingredients of this avocado cucumber salsa recipe. I have used English cucumber for this recipe; you can use regular cucumber too. Cucumber adds crunch and freshness, balancing the richness of the avocado.

Avocado: Another key ingredient of this dish is avocado. It provides smooth, creamy and buttery texture to the salsa.

Onion: Red onion adds a sharp, slightly sweet and crunchy texture to the salsa. It provides a contrast to the mildness of the cucumber and avocado.
Others: Green chili, cilantro leaves (or coriander leaves), rock salt, lemon, etc.
Instructions
Here’s a step-by-step detailed recipe for cucumber avocado salsa dip.
Prepare the ingredients
Cut the avocado in half, remove the seed, scoop out the flesh, and chop into small cubes. Next, chop the English cucumber. You can peel it if you prefer, but the skin adds a nice color and texture. Finely chop the red onion and green chilies. You may remove the seeds for less heat. Wash and finely chop fresh cilantro leaves.

Combine ingredients
Take a mixing bowl, add the chopped cucumber, avocado, onion, green chili and cilantro leaves.

Season & Toss
Sprinkle the rock salt over the vegetable mixture. Squeeze the fresh lime juice into the bowl. Now gently toss all the ingredients together with a spoon or spatula, so the avocado doesn’t get mashed.
Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly coated with lemon juice. Serve immediately.

- Serve it with tortilla chips, pita chips, or even vegetable sticks for a lighter option. Pair it with toasted whole-grain breads or various crackers.
- This refreshing salsa goes well with grilled or seared fish such as King Fish Masala Fry, fish tikka, etc.
- You can serve it as side dish for spicy dishes such as chicken kalmi kebab, BBQ chicken breast, etc.
- Use this as a fresh topping for tacos, burritos, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, etc.

Variations
Cucumber avocado salsa is a light and adaptable dish that can be easily customized with different ingredients.
Here are some variations you can try:
Fruity Flavor: You can incorporate any tropical fruits like mango, peach or pineapple as they will beautifully pair up with creamy avocado. Apart from the above-mentioned fruits, you can also prepare apple cucumber salsa.
Tomato Twist: You can make a tomato and cucumber salsa by swapping the avocado for juicy tomatoes, creating a lighter and tangier version of the dish.
Apart from the above variations, try adding corn kernels, black beans, etc. to make the salsa interesing.
If you prefer spicy flavor, add Jalapeño, chipotle or other chili peppers as per your taste buds.
Storage
I always recommend making it fresh, but you can prepare ahead by chopping the vegetables in advance and storing them separately in airtight glass containers.
If you mix avocado in advance, store the salsa in an airtight container, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface to minimize air exposure, and keep refrigerated.
For the best flavor and texture, consume within one day, as the avocado may begin to brown afterward.
Top tips
- This salsa is best consumed right after preparing, as avocado tends to brown.
- Use ripe but firm avocados to prevent mushiness when mixed. Dice gently.
