Easy Chicken Wrap makes a quick meal that your family will love to have for lunch or dinner. It is stuffed with shredded grilled chicken, vegetables and fresh lettuce leaves. Here is the easy chicken wrap recipe that is healthy and tastes absolutely delicious.

Chicken wraps cut into halves and served on wooden board

Chicken wraps are absolutely favorite at home and guess what you can make this under 30 minutes. This is a great meal for weeknights or on a busy day.

You can make them ahead of your time and wrap in foil and store in refrigerator. Later you can just warm them up and serve. This is a filling meal which is loaded with protein and vegetables. Hence, it is a great option for lunchbox as well.

What are the ingredients required to make Chicken Wrap?

Here I am mentioning the ingredients which I have used to prepare this easy chicken wrap:

Chicken Breasts: I have used chicken breasts for the wrap. I found it easy to grill the whole breast and later shred them as per requirement. Also, when you grill the whole chicken breast, it remains juicy.

However, if you do not have chicken breast instead have bite size chicken pieces you can stir fry them instead of grilling and use in the wrap.

Lettuce: Fresh lettuce leaves are must for this chicken wrap. If you do not have fresh lettuce leaves, before adding them to the wrap, I would suggest to place them in ice water. This revives the not so fresh lettuce leaves.

Vegetables: You can add any vegetables of your choice. Onion is a must. Apart from that, I have added two colorful bell peppers. You can also add shredded cabbage, purple cabbage, tomato or any other veggies of your choice.

Tortillas: Tortillas are must to make wrap. Get good quality tortillas to make this chicken wrap.

Cheese: You can either use cheddar or mozzarella cheese for this purpose.

Seasonings: I have kept the seasonings simple like ground pepper, oregano, salt and red chilli powder. You can use seasonings of your choice.

Sauces: This easy chicken wrap has tomato ketchup. You can use BBQ sauce or Sriracha sauce. Also, I have used simple mayonnaise, you can use any flavor.

Oil: I have used olive oil. You can use any other vegetable oil or refined oil of your choice.

Step-by-step Easy Chicken Wrap Recipe

Clean, wash and pat dry the chicken breasts. Marinate the chicken breasts with salt, oregano, red chilli powder, freshly ground black pepper powder, lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of olive oil. If you do not prefer spicy, then avoid adding red chilli powder. If time permits you can rest the marinated chicken breast for 10-15 minutes.

Marination and grilling of chicken breast

Heat a grill pan and brush with olive oil. Grill the chicken breasts on both sides. Brush chicken breasts with olive oil whenever required. Allow the chicken breasts to cool once they have been grilled. Later shred these grilled chicken breasts and keep aside.

To put the wrap together, take a tortilla and spread 1 teaspoon of tomato ketchup on it. After that, toss in some chopped lettuce, yellow and red bell peppers, and sliced onions, along with a pinch of salt.

Making of chicken wrap stepwise

Add the shredded grilled chicken at this point, as well as 1 teaspoon of mayonnaise and grated cheese. Now fold in the ends about two inches, and then roll up the wraps.

How to fold a wrap

Assemble the remaining wraps in the same manner. After that, prepare a grill pan and brush the wraps with oil before grilling them for a few minutes. Serve by slicing the wraps in half.

Do I need an oven to prepare grilled chicken wrap?

Not really! This chicken wrap recipe is completely done on stove top method. You just need a non-stick grill pan to grill chicken breast and to grill the wraps at the final stage.

Can I use oven to grill the chicken breasts?

Yes you can use oven to grill the chicken breast. Preheat oven at 450 degree F or 230 degree C for 10 minutes (grill mode).

Keep a greased wear rack on the tray and place the chicken breasts on it. place a foil on a oven tray to collect the drippings. Grill the chicken breasts for about 10 -15 minutes. In between turn the other side of the chicken breasts and brush with oil.

How to serve chicken wrap hot or cold?

These chicken wraps can be served wither warm or cold. We enjoy them straight off the grill.
