Pear: It is the key ingredient of the salad. Sweet and juicy, ripe pears add a natural sweetness and refreshing crunch to the salad. Avoid using Indian pear aka Nashpati in this salad.

Variations

  • Add Greens: Incorporate mixed greens, spinach, or arugula to add more freshness and nutritional value.
  • Fruit Mix: Experiment by adding other fruits like apples, cranberries, or pomegranate seeds for extra sweetness and texture. I have added pomegranate pearls, and it has taken the salad to next level.
  • Different Nuts: Swap walnuts for pecans, almonds, or pistachios for a different crunch and flavor.
  • Nut-free variation: Replace walnuts with pumpkin seeds or sunflower seeds for a crunch without nuts.
  • Dressings: Try different dressings like honey mustard or add lemon or orange juice based citrus dressing.
