How to make Green Peas Paratha | Peas Stuffed Paratha

Green Peas Stuffed Paratha is a a flatbread stuffed with the spicy filling of fresh green peas and shallow fried in ghee or oil.

Materials

For Dough

  • 2 cups Wheat Flour
  • 2 teaspoon Vegetable Oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as required

For Stuffing

  • 1.5 cups Green Peas
  • ½ teaspoon Ginger, finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon Green Chilli, finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon Chaat Masala Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • ½ teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • ¼ cup Ghee (Clarified Butter)/ Vegetable Oil for Frying (Use as required)

Instructions

Making Dough

  • Take wheat flour, salt and vegetable oil, and use the required water to make a soft dough. Cover the dough with a damp cloth for half an hour.

Preparation of Stuffing

  • Now boil the green peas. After they cool, use a grinder to make them into a rough paste.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. When they starts crackling add chopped ginger and green chilli.
  • Next add coarse pea paste and followed by add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, chat masala, salt. Mix them well.
  • Once done, switch off the flame and allow it to cool.

Making of Peas Paratha

  • Make equal size balls from the dough and stuff them with the green peas filling prepared earlier. Seal them properly.
  • Later roll the balls using rolling pin and prepare round shaped parathas.
  • Heat skillet and fry the parathas using ghee or vegetable oil. Serve hot with pickle or any other side dish.
