Fruit Custard is a simple and easy-to-prepare dessert made using custard powder, milk, sugar, seasonal fruits, and nuts.

Equipment

  • Heavy Bottom Pot or Pan
  • Ladle
  • Dessert Bowls

Materials

  • cups Milk approx. 500 ml
  • 2 tablespoon Custard Powder
  • 4-5 tablespoon Sugar
  • cups Assorted Fruits, chopped banana, apple, pomegranate
  • 2 tablespoon Assorted Dry Fruits & Nuts, finely chopped dates, raisin, cashew nuts

Instructions

  • Heat milk in a heavy bottom pot. Add sugar and stir until it dissolves.
  • Meanwhile take custard powder in a small bowl and add 1/2 cup of warm milk (take from the pot which you are heating) into it. Mix well there should not be any lumps.
  • Once the milk in the pot starts boiling, lower the temperature and add the custard milk paste slowly to the boiling milk. 
  • Keep stirring and cook for 2-3 minutes until the custard thickens.
  • After that switch off the flame and allow the custard to cool.
  • Once it comes to room temperature you can place in the refrigerator to chill.
  • Now take dessert bowls and add chopped fruits in each bowl.
  • Take out the custard from refrigerator, stir it and pour in each bowl.
  • Garnish with chopped nuts and dry fruits before serving.
