Materials

  • 3 cups Cooked Rice
  • 2 teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • 1 no Bay Leaf
  • 1 inch Cinnamon Stick
  • 1 no Star Anise
  • 1 or 2 no Green Chilli
  • 2 tablespoon Coriander Leaves chopped
  • 2 tablespoon Vegetable Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Ghee (Clarified Butter)
  • Salt to taste
  • 8-10 no Cashew Nuts

Instructions

  • In a pan, heat the ghee and roast the cashew nuts. Once completed, set them aside.
  • Next heat ghee and oil together in a pan. Add bay leaf, cinnamon stick and star anise into the oil ghee mixture.
  • After that, add the cumin seeds and let them crackle.
  • Once they begin to burn just a little, add the green chillies.
  • Later add cooked rice and salt to taste. Combine thoroughly.
  •  Finally, stir in the cooked cashew nuts and chopped coriander leaves.
  •  At this point, you can add a bit extra ghee and stir thoroughly. Restaurant Style Jeera Rice is now ready to be served.

Notes

  1. Rice should not be overcooked. Otherwise, jeera rice won't be fluffy and non-sticky.
  2. Allow to crackle the cumin seeds and turn them brown and aromatic to make the rice flavorful.
