Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

Masala Coke is a fun and refreshing twist on the classic Coca-Cola. This fusion drink blends the familiar fizz of coke with the unique blend of Indian spices. It's a favorite summertime drink, especially in India.

Masala Coke, also known as Masala Cola, is a great thirst quencher with a flavor explosion when compared to regular coke.

I first tried this in a restaurant decade ago and immediately fell in love with the flavor, so I decided to make it at home. Since then, masala coke has become frequent in our household, particularly during the summer.

Masala Coke Ingredients

Coca Cola: The main ingredient of this recipe is Coke or Coca Cola. You can also use diet coke instead of regular coke.

Coke bottle, glass, mint leaves, lemon and spices

Spice Powders: I have used chaat masala powder and back salt in this recipe.

Others: Mint leaves, Lemon, ice cubes, etc.

How to Make Masala Coke

Follow the step-by-step instructions to learn the Masala Coke Recipe.

I am posting the recipe for a single glass (tall) serving. You can also make it in a big batch in a pitcher for your whole family and friends.

Take a glass and add chaat masala powder and black salt to it. I used a tall glass used for serving Coca-Cola.

Add mint leaves in the glass. Muddle them using a wooden muddler. This helps to release the flavor of mint leaves. Next add round lemon slices.

Next, add ice cubes to the glass. If you do not prefer ice cubes, you can skip. So, addition of ice to the drink is completely your choice.

Finally, pour the Coke into the glass. Garnish with lemon and mint leaves. Masala Coke is now ready for serving.

Serving Suggestions

You may serve this refreshing drink to go with any meal. We like masala coke with biryani or any other Indian dish. This fusion beverage is also a fantastic welcome drink.

Substitutions

If you substitute the main ingredient i.e. coke, the recipe will change. However, you can replace coke with soda or sprite and prepare masala soda and masala sprite, respectively.

I will share the recipe of masala soda soon in my blog.

Variations

Masala coke may be customized by adding your favorite spices and adjusting the quantity of spices used.

Apart from the above-mentioned spices, you can use roasted cumin powder, jaljeera powder, dash of black pepper and red chili powder.

People who love spicy flavor may also add chopped green chili for the extra kick in the drink. However, I have not tried this version.

This is a non-alcoholic drink however, many people also prepare coke masala alcohol by adding their favorite alcohol in the drink.
