Ingredients
Eggs: The key ingredient of this dish is egg. I have used large size eggs here.
Vegetables: In this egg bites recipe, I have used bell peppers (red and yellow), onions, and spinach.
Seasoning: Salt and Black pepper.
Others: Cheese and vegetable oil.
Instructions
Here I am sharing the recipe of the best air fryer egg bites. Follow the step-by-step guide and learn to make egg bites in air fryer.
Whisk each egg separately in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Combine the diced onion, bell peppers, and spinach as required. Mix thoroughly. Next, add few drops of vegetable oil and little bit of grated cheese to the mixture and combine thoroughly.
Grease the silicone muffin mold with oil and pour the ingredients into it.
Make the batter for each muffin form in the same way, using the remaining eggs and other ingredients.
Alternatively, you can also beat all the eggs in a big size bowl. Whisk it properly. Mix all the vegetables and other ingredients. Combine well and later you can fill the muffin mold with the required amount of mixture.
Place the muffin mold with the mixture in an air fryer and cook for 8-12 minutes at 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius), or until the eggs are puffy and cooked.
Use tongs to carefully remove the muffin molds and let them cool before removing them. Now the egg bits are ready to be served.
Serving Suggestions
Air fryer egg bites can be served with fruit bowl or salads or with a glass of smoothie.
You can also serve them with toasted bread or bagels. Even you do not need any sides with egg bites, you can just enjoy them with some ketchup.
Variations
Add-ons can be used to create variations in egg bites. Here I am suggesting few add-ons:
Vegetables: You can add your choice of vegetables in the egg bites such as zucchini, green bell pepper, spring onion, mushroom, tomato, sweet corn, etc. If you are adding root vegetables, make sure you grate them before adding otherwise they will remain uncooked.
Seasoning: You can add chili flakes and other herbs as per your taste buds.
Meat: If you are a meat lover you can add bacon, ham and sausages in the recipe.
Make Ahead & Storage
I would recommend making it fresh as it can be done within 30 minutes of time. However, you can still reduce the preparation time by chopping the required vegetables and store them in refrigerator for 2 to 3 days.
You can also store the prepared egg bites in an airtight container and store for 2-3 days in a refrigerator. Just reheat them in microwave and enjoy a quick breakfast.
