Honey Hot Sauce Ingredients
Honey: The key ingredient of this sauce is honey. Use premium quality organic honey for the best outcome. Honey adds the sweetness to the sauce.
Chili Flakes or Chili Pepper: It adds spicy flavor to the dip. I have used locally available dried chili flakes. Adjust the amount of chili flakes according to your taste bud. If you prefer more heat, add extra; otherwise, keep it balanced.
Cayenne Pepper Powder: Addition of cayenne pepper powder adds heat and smoky flavor to the sauce. Again, adjust the quantity as you prefer. If you do not have cayenne pepper powder, you can also use Indian red chili powder.
Vinegar: I have used Apple Cider Vinegar in this recipe. Here vinegar adds a tangy flavor and also act as preservative if you want to store the sauce for few days.
Instructions
Learn the recipe for honey hot sauce by following step by step instructions.
Take honey in a non-stick pan. Then add the ingredients including chili flakes, cayenne powder in pan. Mix well and heat over medium low heat.
Allow the mixture to simmer for 8-10 minutes and stir in between. Once the honey is infused with chili pepper, taste the level of spice and finally remove the pan from the heat.
Next allow to cool the mixture for few minutes and add the apple cider vinegar. Mix thoroughly.
Strain the mixture to remove the chili flakes and seeds. Store it in an airtight dry glass jar. Your 4 ingredients hot honey sauce is ready to use.
I believe this straining part is absolutely optional. Use fine mesh for straining the sauce if you are not at all fond of the flakes when serving it with your favorite bites.
Alternatively, you can choose to retain the flakes while storing the hot honey sauce as flakes and seeds likely to increase the spice level of the sauce.
Storage
Allow to cool the honey hot sauce completely before storing it to a dry and clean airtight container. You can store it for up to a month or sometimes for longer duration at room temperature. I avoid storing it in the refrigerator since honey tends to crystallize.

- Always use fresh batch of honey for the recipe.
