About Parfait
The term "parfait" originates from the French word meaning "perfect." The term refers to a layered frozen desserts from the late 18th century.
Inspired by the traditional parfait recipe, innovative American parfait recipes were created by layering whipped cream or ice cream, fresh or canned fruits, and nuts in a glass.
Later, in American dessert parfaits, cream substituted with yogurt, and muesli or granola in layers with fruits became a popular choice for a nutritious breakfast in a glass.
Ingredients
Banana: I have used small variety banana here. However, you can use any variety of banana for this breakfast recipe. You can also use frozen banana for the same.
Yogurt: This is a key ingredient of this recipe. Chilled yogurt is apt for the recipe. You can also Greek yogurt for banana parfait. Interestingly, addition of flavored yogurt can enhance the taste of this parfait recipe.

Muesli: It provides the crunch to the dish. You can use any flavor of muesli in this recipe. You can also substitute muesli with granola.
Others: Dry fruits and nuts, Honey or Maple syrup, etc.
Instructions
Follow the step-by-step instructions to prepare this easy banana yogurt parfait for breakfast.
Here I am sharing the recipe for single serving, and you can simply double or triple the recipe as per your requirement.
Peel and slice the bananas and keep aside.
Now take a glass or a mason jar to prepare this parfait recipe.
Put 1/2 cup of muesli in the bottom layer. Now layer half of the yogurt and few banana slices on top of the yogurt.
Repat layering with the remaining muesli, yogurt and sliced banana. Drizzle honey on top layer and this is completely optional.
Finally top it with dry fruits and nuts and few more banana slices. Now your healthy banana yogurt parfait is ready. If you are making it in a mason jar, cover it with a lid, and it is ready to take on the go.
Note: Normally, the layering of the parfait recipe starts with addition of yogurt in the bottom layer. However, I prefer the crunchy bottom layer of the parfait, hence I start layering with muesli.

Though honey is an optional ingredient, but you can substitute honey with maple syrup or date syrup to make it perfect for vegan diet.
